Tom and Ruben's style has Qredits!

Custom made from head to toe.

Bold Fashion delivers tailored suits for the price of ready to wear. With a microfinance loan, the young company is expanding its services.

Should we start a tailor-made suit company together? That’s what Tom Oud and Ruben Kranenburg, friends and colleagues, said to each other years ago.  Then it was more or less a joke. But in April 2009 when their employer closed its doors, the idea came up again and now seriously. They didn’t have to think very long about it. "We just started," says Tom, co-owner of Bold Fashion. "We already had a good network, because we were both sales manager at our employer, the largest business suit company in the Netherlands."

The fact that their employer had gone bankrupt didn’t keep Tom and Ruben from their business plans. Tom: "Their failure had nothing to do with the concept of tailor-made suits. Beyond that we have different priorities. We don’t have hip laptops, expensive printers or a polished office. We work out of our homes. That’s how we keep costs as low as possible. We put everything into the quality of our product. The suits are not cheaply made in Morocco or the Far East. Our suits come from the best fabric house in the world. We are very proud of that. "

Vulnerable

Almost immediately after the liquidation, Bold Fashion was launched. The measurements are taken on location: the customer's home (private) or at work (business). The customer gets to choose from a few thousand different fabrics and patterns. Three to four weeks later, his suit is delivered. If desired, a custom shirt can be ordered as well.
After a few months, both owners realized the need for additional funding. Tom explains: "We started totally from scratch. We realized that we were actually very vulnerable. If just something small happened we would fall over. It went very well with the business, but we couldn’t invest in the future. "

Coach

Two banks weren’t forthcoming, because of a credit bureau rating from the distant past. But with Qredits the ball got rolling. Tom is very happy with this. "At Qredits they look further," he says. "The door doesn’t close when the phrase "credit bureau" is uttered. They saw that we have the passion to make this venture a success."
Within a month there was twenty thousand euros in Bold Fashion’s bank account. The volunteer coach, also from Qredits, added his thoughts along with Tom and Ruben's on the future of the company. Tom: "I thought the coach would be a kind of auditor who would watch over our shoulders to see if we spent the money properly. But that was totally not the case. He was there for us. We received good tips from him.“

Webshop

With the credit, to begin with Tom and Ruben bought, the necessary supplies to be able to deliver custom made shoes, such as, fitting and show model shoes. If this new product catches on, they want to buy a second set, so they can both have a collection. Beyond that, the rest of the loan is not yet allocated.  Concrete plans are there, says Tom. "The credit suddenly opens a whole new world. Ultimately we want to be able to offer a total package. That way, if you've bought a tailor-made suit from us, you won’t have to go to the store for a tie and a belt. We want dress people from head to toe. We are also going to open a webshop."
