500th Credit Extended

State Secretary Heemskerk handed out the 500th Qredits’ microcredit on December 17, 2009, to Bas Baak.

Bas Baak is the owner of Baak Schoonmaak in The Hague. The Secretary of State, Frank Heemskerk: "It has been possible to extend the 500th loan within just one years. I am proud of this achievement and I'm especially proud of the entrepreneurs that now, full of faith, get the chance to own a business.

Baak Schoonmaak is a cleaning company for entrance halls and offices. Baak was unable to get a loan at a regular bank, and was, via the Chamber of Commerce, directed to Qredits. He borrowed 9000 euros from Qredits to purchase business supplies and has since then built up a decent customer base and order profile. Along with a camera crew from StadsTV The Hague, the Secretary of State found Bas while he was working and handed him the loan check.

Very involved

State Secretary Heemskerk is very involved in Microfinance in the Netherlands. Heemskerk: "Microfinance has significant impact for the Netherlands. More start-up businesses in the Netherlands will contribute to greater economic growth and new jobs."
