Qredits increases financing possibilities for small entrepreneurs

From September 15, 2011, Qredits raises its microcredit ceiling from €35.000 to €50.000. With this increase, Qredits will be able to finance more (starting) entrepreneurs and to further stimulate entrepreneurship among small businesses. Both starting and existing entrepreneurs can apply for a microcredit up to €50.000.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation, ABN AMRO Bank, ING Netherlands and Rabobank Netherlands, Qredits has decided to increase the microcredit ceiling from €35.000 to €50.000. The demand for microcredits in the Netherlands still seems to be increasing. A number of applications however, cannot be taken into consideration by Qredits because the requested amount is above the €35.000 ceiling. Looking at applications it also seems that for a number of them, the amount requested is purposely reduced in order stay below the maximum amount of €35.000. By increasing the credit maximum, Qredits can extend her support of small business in the Netherlands.

In a little over 2.5 years, Qredits has put microcredit on the map in the Netherlands, and has built a solid base with more than 30 employees and 10 branches throughout the country. In this time, 1,750 microloans have been extended. By using a personal monitoring approach, supported by coaching and intensive support, the number of entrepreneurs in arrears has remained quite limited.

Qredits stands for a personal approach and aims to finance entrepreneurs in a socially responsible manner. This is accomplished through, among other things, a comprehensive assessment of the entrepreneur’s personal situation so as to prevent negative personal impact, for instance, over indebtedness. The extensive personal contact, including a visit to the house or business location of the entrepreneur, is an important part of the careful assessment process.
